As WaterWorks Crystals® expand they open the soil media by forcing soil particles apart.As water is taken from WaterWorks Crystals® through osmotic action, the gel shrinks back to its original crystal size.
When water is reintroduced through watering, rain, or irrigation, the crystals will absorb that water once again, swelling back up to almost 100 times their original size.
This constant contraction/expansion cycle will take place in the soil for up to five years per application. It creates a wonderful built-in aeration sysem for the root structure, also contributing to increased root mass.
